How Uploading to CLOS Cloud Works — Real-Time & Background Sync

How CLOS Cloud uploads happen — in real time over fast connections, in the background after the shoot on slower ones. Plus troubleshooting tips.

When a photographer chooses to save a session to CLOS Cloud, every photo flows from the model’s device into the cloud automatically — sometimes during the shoot, sometimes after. Here’s exactly how it works and how to keep uploads moving smoothly. This is the storage pipeline behind every PRO-tier shoot, casting session and brand campaign.

What happens during the shoot

Photos are first written to the cache memory of the model or subject’s device.

  • Fast, stable internet: photos upload to CLOS Cloud in real time during the shoot.
  • Slow or unstable internet: uploads start in the background after the shoot ends and the model leaves the room.

How to keep the upload moving

Once the shoot is over and the model has left the virtual room, they should:

  1. Navigate to the main screen of the CLOS app
  2. Keep the app running in the foreground
  3. Keep the phone unlocked during the upload

These three together let the OS prioritise the upload and avoid throttling.

If the upload appears stuck

  • Make sure the model has exited the virtual room
  • Try restarting the app — swipe it up to close, then reopen
  • Connect to a stronger Wi-Fi signal to restart the upload

Important: Do not delete the app before all images have finished uploading to CLOS Cloud — anything that hasn’t uploaded yet will be lost.
