How to Get the Best Image Quality in CLOS Remote Shoots
Pro tips for sharp, well-exposed remote photos in CLOS — for the photographer directing the shoot and the model holding the device.
A remote shoot in CLOS is only as good as the camera-side fundamentals — focus, exposure, light and stability. Whether you’re running a virtual casting, a remote fashion shoot or a product shoot, these tips help every frame land sharper and cleaner.
For the photographer
- Set focus and exposure deliberately. Tap the screen on the area you want sharp. If parts of the frame are over-exposed, tap them to bring the exposure down.
- Use the flash in low light. Don’t fight the dark — turn on the flash.
- Experiment. Try new angles, locations, and light conditions. Variety in the contact sheet always wins.
For the model
- Use the main rear camera, not the selfie camera. The rear sensor is sharper and produces better files.
- Stabilise the device. A tripod is ideal. If you don’t have one, improvise — duct tape, books, wires, even a tree branch all work.
- Experiment with light. Move the device, try a window, try outside. Daylight beats artificial light most of the time.
At a glance
- Choose the main rear camera over the front one
- Stabilise the device with whatever you have on hand
- Take manual control of focus and exposure — see Flash, Exposure, Focus
- Use the flash in the dark
- Experiment with angles and light
